Today we are going to practice the things we learned yesterday. I want you to do a search to find the answers to the following questions. When you give your answer you need to include the search criteria you used as well as the search engine. You also need to include the URL for the site you got your answer from.

Topic 1: The Vertical Marathon is run each year in Singapore. Find out where it is held, how high the run is (and how many stairs), the record, and the cost to enter.

Topic 2: Koh Samui, Thailand Disc Golf Course is the nearest course to Singapore. Find a map that shows the location on the island of Samui, the cost to play on the course, and the resort it is connected to (if any).

Topic 3: Scissors, when and where were they invented? By whom?

Topic 4: The largest known star, (I'm defining this as largest volume) what is its name, how far is it from earth, what is it's diameter, how many of our suns would it take to fill it, and how many earths would it take to fill it?

Topic 5: Jiffy, what is the actual definition of this term?

Today we will increase our ability to use search engines. We will be looking at some techniques for improved searches. You will also be doing Online Activity 2.2.

Today we will be discussing the internet and its uses as multimedia. We will also spend some time looking at the history of the internet. You will be doing the Online Activity 2.1 from the "Text Website"

Ephesians 6:22

Today you will be planning a multimedia project. Individually you need to think of an activity, organization, or other subject that interests you (hobby, sport, musical group, business, club, car, friend, pet, etc.) Think of a production you could use to inform others about the subject. Decide if it would be a tutorial, presentation, Web page, or simulation. Write a paragraph describing why you chose this type of presentation and how you envision the final production.

Once you have created an idea, you need to create a basic outline for the construction of your project. Describe the different types of information you would have in each category:

1. Text
2. Graphics
3. Video
4. Audio
5. Interactivity

You will need to save this as a single file with the name: ProjectPlan [name].doc (example "ProjectPlan Fred.doc") Save it in our class folder. This will be our normal naming convention: title, space, name.

Today we will be discussing the history of media in the world. Later on in the period you will need to use the "Text Website" in the "Links" section of this page, to find your assignment and complete it; you will be doing "Online Activty 1.2". For the beginning of the period you will need to have some means of taking notes. Either on the computer, or on paper.
