Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Psalm 34:14

You will be creating a web site for a company. In your team you need to come up with some ideas for a good, workable business. The idea would be a company that you could actually use. Your company should incorporate the skills that you have individually.

Your site needs to include each of the following:

  1. A company logo
  2. A good, working navigation system to get to each of your different pages
  3. Consistency amongst your pages
  4. A page describing the mission statement of your company
  5. A FAQ page with questions people might ask about your company
  6. A listing of the services provided by your company
  7. Some information about the CEOs of the company (this should contain a myriad of information, but should focus on the qualifications for this specific job)
  8. Pictures of your product, or of the service you will provide
  9. Testimonials telling why people should do business with you
  10. At least 10 pages
In your group, each one must take an active part by creating the page about themself. You also need to all have a part in the creative process behind the page design, and the company design. Of course some of you are better at some things than others. One may be the more imaginative while another is more of a leader and another has good grammar skills!

These webpages will be due on November 10.

Music Video

You need to create a music video. You may use any song that you have the legal rights to. This means that you have legally purchased the CD or that you found a free (legal) download, or that you have borrowed the actual CD from a friend. Your video needs to be 5 minutes long, you will have 30 seconds of leeway. If the song you choose is the wrong length you will need to duplicate portions, cut some, or mix two different songs. The words and music genre are largely open for your own preferences, but make sure that they are appropriate. If you want to use a song in a language other than English you may, but you MUST provide subtitles.

For the actual filming, each student must be in the video for at least 30 seconds. Have fun!

Computer Infomercial

Today you will be working in your groups to create a computer. The computer you are creating will be custom built for a particular use (multimedia, gaming, business, etc). You will do research online to find the best prices on items. You will also be choosing what type and quality of each piece of hardware to make your computer the best possible for its use. You have a budget of $2,500. Once you have decided on all the parts you need for the computer, you will need to create an infomercial to advertise this computer. I have given you a sheet with a list of items necessary for the computer. The "Computer" row needs to be separated into the following rows:
Case
Motherboard
Processor
Power Supply
Hard Drive
RAM
Video Card
Network Card

You may want to consider different styles of display (multiple monitors, projector, etc.)

You do not necessarily need a Zip Drive (these are not used much anymore). You may also include extra peripheral items to improve the computer or to make things easier. As you go through this project, remember to keep in mind the goal of your computer. Also, be thinking about ways you can make this computer unique.

Once you have done the research on the computer, you will need to begin planning your infomercial. Your infomercial should be 90 seconds, EXACTLY! Plan it, practice it! Next Friday we will present our infomercials.

Web Search

http://searchenginez.com/tutorial.html
http://www.sc.edu/beaufort/library/pages/bones/bones.shtml

Here are a couple of sites with information about web searches (the second is the one we were looking at yesterday.)

I would like you to find:
a site that has a link to my webpage (http://whittakersingapore.blogspot.com/)
information about a Michael Jordon that was not a star in the NBA
a website based in England with the rules of cricket
the name and team of the first winner of the Cy Young award in baseball
A webpage with "The Invisible Web" for a title; what is the invisible web?

For each search, include the website, the search engine, and the search criteria.

Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

For your final project you need to create a 25 minute production about the country of your choice. The only limitation on the country that you choose is that it must be a country that none of your group has ever lived in! You may cover any part of the culture and lifestyles of the country that you like. Have fun with this. Your presentation will be given during the week of finals. Plan to bring snacks and dress according to the dress styles of your countries.

Your groups are:
Purple Team Mauve Team
Cyan Team
hannah sam andrea
aric mary vanessa
sojin yurie jana

These presentations will be due on Monday, December 12.

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.
Romans 14:13

We will be listening to the songs today and deciding if they need to be editted. Please save your file with your first name as the filename into the "Number CD" folder. Hopefully you still have the project file so you can open and edit if need be!

"Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord from the heavens,
praise him in the heights above.
Praise him, all his angels,
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
Praise him, sun and moonm praise him, all you shining stars.
Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above th skies.
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for he commanded and they were created.
He set them in place for ever and ever;
he gave a decree that will never pass away.
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and
the heavens.
He has raised up for his people a horn,
the praise of all his saints,
of Israel, the people close to his heart.
Praise the Lord."
Psalm 148:1-6 and 13-14

Please keep working on your webpage.
